Questions

  1. Do you find it difficult to accept that God loves you unconditionally, and why or why not? What role do our earthly fathers play in how we perceive God's love and acceptance of us?

  2. Read John 3:15. What happens when someone believes?

  3. Read John 3:16-17. What could possibly motivate God to offer such a salvation to people who reject or even hate him? How unusual does that seem to you, and why?

  4. Do you know anyone like Nicodemus? What can change a made up mind? Based upon your answer, what is the best approach you can take to share the love of God with those people?

  5. Most of the world is attempting salvation through "performance" motivated by fear. God offers salvation through "grace" motivated by His unmerited love. Do you have this straight in your own mind for yourself? If it is hard to accept, why is that? We can only share what we ourselves understand. Do you need to accept yourself and let yourself experience the unconditional love of God? He wants you to know that He loves you very much.

Table Leaders: Close in prayer giving men an opportunity to pray for anyone who needs to experience God's unmerited, unconditional love (including for themselves).
