1. How content are you right now, and why?

2. Read John 3:27 and 3:30. What do these verses tell you about John's circumstances and role? Describe John's state of mind.

3. How dependent is contentment upon circumstances? How might a man be discontent even though his circumstances seem terrific? How might a man be content even though his circumstances seem like they're falling apart? What is the "secret of being content" that Paul mentions in Philippians 4:11-13? What does his answer have in common with today's text?

4. Explain the difference between a "commitment" to Christ and a "surrender" to Christ. What are some potential problems with only being "committed" to Christ? How about you-have you committed or surrendered your life to Christ? How can a focus on surrender liberate you?

5. What is one thing you can apply to your life from today's message? How can that make a difference in your life today?
