How To Talk To Anyone About Jesus

John 4:1-30

Questions

January 26, 2001

1. Thinking back to the eyes of people you have been with over the last few days, does anyone stand out as seeming confused, hurting, or off balance?

2. Where does John 4:3 tell us that Jesus was going? Where did he end up meeting the Samaritan woman according to John 4:5-6? How did he change his plans according to John 4:40? And what was the result per John 4:41?

3. In the text we see what Jesus did and how he interacted with this woman. What did Jesus do? Why did he do it? What can we learn from this encounter?

4. Jesus was willing to adjust his plans to meet a human need. Jesus didn't put his plans before people. In fact, people were his plans. How willing are you (typically) to adjust your plans to help people?

5. Going back to someone you identified in question #1, how could you apply the method Jesus employed to engage that person in a meaningful conversation about Christianity?

Table Leaders: Close in prayer giving men an opportunity to pray for anyone who needs to experience God's unmerited, unconditional love (including for themselves).
