1. How well do you think you understand what Jesus is trying to do in your life? Explain your answer. 2. What is your impression of the motives of the father mentioned in John 4:46-47? 3. Jesus gave two responses to the father, one in v. 48 and another in v. 50. How are these responses connected, and what makes them different? 4. The father came for one thing, but ended up getting something more and altogether different than what he asked. What did he ask for? What did he receive? Have you ever had an experience like this with Jesus before? And, if so, describe it. 5. What does today's lesson make you want to do differently as a father, as a neighbor, or as a follower of Christ? Table Leaders: Close in prayer giving men an opportunity to pray for anyone who needs to experience God's unmerited, unconditional love (including for themselves). |
