Discussion Questions

1. Do you think it is easy for a man to fall "suddenly" into sin, or not? Explain your answer by giving an example.

2. We all know David's sin in the matter of Bathsheba and Uriah. Why did he do it-what was the "sin beneath the sin"? Do you have a good handle on how a man can fall into such sin?

3. What does forgiveness do for us? What does it not do? What does it require?

4. Read the following points, then describe one way you would like to respond to today's message and discussion….

  • No sin is so innocuous that it need not be confessed.
  • No believer's sin is so egregious that it cannot be forgiven.
  • No sin can be so hidden that it will not be found out.
  • Nothing we do can earn forgiveness.
  • Nothing we do can lose the forgiveness we have already received.
  • Forgiveness of sin requires no higher standard of performance in the future.
