Impact

One man recently shared that he had been on his face before the Lord for a couple of hours, broken over his own sin. (Not a result of any message/special emphasis--just the Lord moving in his heart and life.)

Another man reported that, as a result of a back operation several years ago, he was not "supposed to" have any feeling in or use of his arms. When he went to the specialist, who took very special tests, the specialist was unable to determine how he was able to feel. The man's response was: "It is the Lord's blessing." After review of his charts and reports, the doctor admitted that it "had to be".

News

Katrina Relief: Join C&MA Katrina relief operations in Waveland, Mississippi. Individuals or groups can go to the national C&MA website (www.cmalliance.org) for information or they can go directly to the central scheduling center in Foley, Alabama. Requests for bringing work crews need to go through this e-mail: waveland@cmalliance.org. Ask Trudi for confirmation on possible dates as well as information on security badges.

If you do not have access to a computer you can call the Genesis Church directly at: (251) 986-5843. This is absolutely necessary due to the number of calls and the logistics of scheduling. In a few months, work crews with construction abilities will be needed, for now the needs are in these four areas:

  1. Maintenance: heavy equipment
  2. Kitchen: preparing and serving nearly 5,000 meals a day
  3. Distribution: handing out items to needy families
  4. Receiving: unloading trucks

Life

Tri-Cord Teams: “…as much as men want to become like Christ, most of them are struggling with the flesh, and from Sunday to Sunday they are going it alone. They attempt to face the many daily spiritual and personal challenges all by themselves. When "going it alone," it allows us to live secretive lives in many respects. This often results in making poor decisions, living broken lives, shattering important relationships, and a falling away from God's will for us.

The world teaches us to be strong, independent and self-reliant. But if we stay on this track to be self-made, we will never experience the joy and success of being God-made.”

Leadership

God’s Plan. God’s plan is to make much of the man, far more of him than anything else, because men are God’s method. The church is looking for better methods; God is looking for better men.

The Holy Ghost does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machines, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men. It is not great talents nor great learning that God needs, but men great in holiness, great in faith, great in love, great in fidelity, great for God. Those men can mold a generation for God.

Why Did Our Leadership Team Fail?
The Man in the Mirror Weekly Briefing by Pat Morley

We all have been on a leadership team that really clicked and, together, our ministry or business took a quantum leap forward. On the other hand, we’ve all had the lamentable experience of being part of a team that failed. Why do some leadership teams fail, while others take off?

Reboot
(with 1 Samuel 17:4-7)

The Enemy’s Appearance. He was over nine feet tall. There are two aspects to the figure of Goliath: his imposing size and his formidable protection and weapons. He was an imposing figure. He was far taller than Saul. In addition, His shield bearer went ahead of him. That meant that the shield bearer could deflect the first blow and allow Goliath to attack while his enemy was preparing to strike again.

The Nephilim (meaning fallen ones, people of great size and strength) had the same effect on the twelve men of Israel sent to explore the Promised Land, with the exception of Joshua and Caleb (Num 13:26-33). We are taken captive by the mental images we have of the enemy. As captives to the enemy we forget the freedom we have in Christ. We fail to measure the enemy against our Champion, God, who is far superior in size, skill and power.

Knees down. Head up.
