This Just In: Four different book titles in one case!
This is an awesome opportunity to get great Christian books for small group studies. Bob from Florida said, “I ordered the books to be used in our fall line up of courses. Part of them will be for Sunday morning for a men's class and then again in mid-week for an evening class with The Man in the Mirror. It is really good that we can buy them at such a low price.” Leadership For Changing Lives: Men's Fraternity
Men's Fraternity was designed to help men come together and strengthen each other through weekly sessions that combine biblical teaching and small group interaction. These time-tested resources have been used all over the world to equip men to make their pursuit of noble manhood a lifelong priority. Church leaders and lay members are using the series to energize the men of their church and to connect with men in the community. Many men also use the series in their own personal pursuit of authentic manhood. Go to Men's Fraternity for more information. (Ministry of the Month) Where Are the Men? Even a cursory reading of Scripture reveals that God is looking for men. Ezekiel 22:30 says, “I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land that I might not destroy it, but I found no one.” God is looking for men with humble hearts; men who will sacrifice anything for Christ and the advancement of His Kingdom. Robert Coleman says it this way in his book, The Master Plan of Evangelism: ... Read more. (Article of the Month) For Changing Lives: Flexibility and Power!
Reboot (with Joshua) Characteristics of a Leader (Joshua 1:15) Joshua gave the Reubenites, Gadites and half tribe of Manassah instructions on their role in advancing into the Promised Land. He exhorted them to be accountable to the commitment they made to Moses, to “go in front” of the Israelites and to help their brothers. Next, Joshua encourages them to Be Persistent (v15).
Joshua tells the Reubenites, Gadites and half tribe of Manassah that they need to stay with the job until it is completed. The job is tough. It is challenging. There will always be a temptation to give up – to move on to something easier. Joshua urges the Reubenites, Gadites and half tribe of Manassah to keep at it until the land has been conquered. They were not to quit until the job was done. Never give up. Keep on keeping on. The task of encouraging men to move from where they are to where the Lord wants them is difficult, particularly when our men may not want to move. Men's ministry is like herding cats. It is draining, exhausting and discouraging. The battle for the souls of men is spiritual warfare. The enemy throws up barriers, distractions and diversions to keep men from realizing their potential or the plan that God has for them. We are to persist in spite of setbacks and tactical defeats. The Lord indicates that there may be times when we need to “shake the dust from our shoes” and move on (Matt 10:14). When do we do that? When we get frustrated? When we just cannot stand it anymore? What if we are approaching the tipping point? Only the Lord can tell us when it is time to change our focus and redirect our energy and attention. The battle is the Lord's. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Gal 6:9). If we grow weary we have made it our battle, used our energy, and applied our wisdom and will. We have not relied on the Lord. The Lord directs us to keep at it until the land has been subdued. There will always be those in our sphere of influence who do not have peace or rest. Retirement is not an option.
Those to whom God is giving rest he commands to be persistent.
