Florida Men of Integrity

2006 was a banner year for FMI and men’s ministry in Florida. Many men’s hearts were turned to Jesus Christ as a result of FMI’s support of the local churches in developing their ministries for men. The men of FMI supported the local churches and denominational leaders by providing information, training and resources for their men’s ministries.

During 2006 FMI became a charter affiliate of the Iron Sharpens Iron Conference Network. Over a nine month period, FMI worked with other ministries across America to design conferences for men that the local churches could use to build their men’s ministries. FMI facilitated the first Iron Sharpens Iron Conference at Community Life Center in Port Charlotte in October. We are especially thankful to Pastor Mark Coffey and the men of Community Life Center for hosting the first ISI Conference outside of New England and in Florida. They were great! So were Dale Schlafer and Jose Ortiz, the main session speakers and our 18 seminar leaders!

David Dusek and Bob Whitehead joined the staff of FMI this year. David is serving full-time as Events Coordinator and Bob part-time as Webmaster. Also, John Delaney is developing a new website for FMI. We are grateful for his behind the scenes dedication and service!

The ministry of FMI stands on the threshold of some very exciting opportunities to reach men for Jesus Christ in 2007. Some of these opportunities include, but are not limited to:

The Iron Sharpens Iron Conferences will provide an effective vehicle for the local churches to use to build their ministries for men. The conferences will also provide a means by which FMI may communicate information about other men’s ministries, training opportunities and resources to support ministry to and through men in the local church.

FMI is a process-driven ministry dedicated to supporting the local church. We focus on facilitating a process in the local church by which men are brought into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.

Changes within Florida Men of Integrity-Miami

Rev. Daryl McCray

Rev. Joe Rodriguez has accepted the position of Regional Director for the South Florida Region. Rev. McCray accepted a position to serve on the Executive Advisory Council for FMI, and McCray will be moving his ministry, D.M.J. Ministries, to North Carolina in 2007. He will continue to serve in Florida overseeing work in the field.

Florida Men of Integrity-Miami has started a training center for men under the leadership of Rev. Joe Rodriguez of FMI & Band of Brothers Ministry, The Combat Center 4 Men. They meet on Friday evenings. Call for times and location.

Florida Men of Integrity-Miami is helping to raise 500 volunteers for “The NFL Experience,” This signature Super Bowl event will be held Saturday, February 3^rd.

Pray for the new prison ministry to disciple and mentor men under the leadership of Elder William L. McCray.

FMI Field Ministry Training --OR-- Developing an Effective Disciple-Making Men's Ministry in Your Church

FMI South Central Region

FMI is the Sponsor of Highlands County "Men of Promise" (PK-Men). These monthly men's meeting rallies are held on the third Monday night of the month at a different sponsoring local church.
