The purpose of the conference is to provide an event which can be used by the local churches to build their men’s ministries. Florida Men of Integrity is proud to partner with Olive Baptist Church in this effort. We believe that God will use this conference to impact the lives of many men and churches for The Kingdom. For more information about, or to register for the conference, click here. Individual and group registrations may be made online, or by calling (352) 371-6682, or by faxing to (352) 491-8844.

A Strategy for War

Bishop Larry Jackson was the guest speaker on Friday, March 2, at FMI’s 8th Annual Pastors Appreciation Breakfast in Gainesville for North Central Florida. Over 170 people attended the Breakfast. Bishop Jackson talked abut spiritual warfare. He reminded the pastors that, “You must first know your enemy before you engage him. Then develop a strategy for engagement.” Bishop Jackson noted that Jesus consistently spoke to, and about, the evil one as “the devil” when the evil one was divisive, and as “satan” when the evil one acted in opposition to what God was trying to do. Bishop Jackson encouraged pastors to establish a “war room” in their churches to combat the enemy.

Sportsmen Banquet in Macclenny

On February 17th The First Baptist Church of Macclenny held its first Sportsmen Banquet. Our key speakers were Brother Bill Tebow, Pastor and Missionary to the Philippines, and also known as the father of the best college quarter back in the world and brother Terry Bradley, local hunting, fishing and outdoors expert. Over 250 men were served table fare of pulled pork, smoked turkey, fried venison and gator tail. Truly God was in the midst with Brother Tebow sharing on the role of man in the home. Salvation was brought to at least ten. Praise God!

Did You Know? Pastors and Prayer

According to Pulpit and Pew, full-time pastors average a 50 hour work week and part-time pastors average working 25.02 hours per week. Of those hours, the full-time pastors spend 8 hours a week in prayer, and the part-time pastors spend 6 hours in prayer. In the new book A Man’s Guide to the Spiritual Disciplines, Pat Morley talks about “A Man and Prayer.” He points out that one characteristic of men who pray is they believe that prayer is the most powerful use of their time – more powerful than labor. Read more about it here.
