Gentlemen,
Greetings and Blessings from the staff at Man in the Mirror! I just wanted to give you a quick update on the Leadership Community. In our last conference call we rolled out the first five Leadership Community Advisory teams – they are:
- Men’s Ministry Specialists – giving input on a model for training, equipping, and certifying Men’s Ministry Specialists
- Leaders’ Directory – building an interactive, online directory which will provide a contact in all 42,000+/- zip codes
- Prayer Network – to build a network of prayer warriors and facilitate sharing prayer needs and praises throughout the community
- Affinity Groups – helping to define how the Leadership Community portal can best support groups who share common missions (e.g., Small Group Leaders, Small Church Men’s Ministry Leaders, Users of a specific small group curriculum, etc.)
- Shared Resource Center – helping to define an online tool which allows the men’s ministry community to share resources, best practices, and general knowledge freely and easily
The Men's Ministry Specialist program will kick off it's first training targeted for Methodist leaders in January at the BSMM. We will be having a conference call for all the men registered for that training on Monday, December 18 at 4 PM EST. We expect to have a Beta version of the National Leadership Directory available soon – the team involved with the directory testing will provide feedback on the initial prototype and then we’ll be rolling it out to everyone for review. We are planning to have an initial “look and feel” of The Leadership Community website available for everyone to view in January! This prototype will give everyone a chance to provide some input and opinions on how the website will look, and see some of the basic navigation.
Please pray. The Lord continues to provide direction and guidance to each of us as we build this community. We seek your prayers and ask for your input as we move into 2006. Continue to lift up the development team, the funding, and the volunteers who so selflessly give their time and expertise. Together we’re building a community that none of us could build alone!
