Changes in Religion - Early & Often Pew Research Center Releases New Study on Faith Affiliation
Our current global climate is often directed by the religious beliefs of our world's leaders. It is important to strengthen
Judeo-Christian values in our families and churches in order to preserve our nation and our future. Recently, the Pew Research Center conducted a study and found that half of Americans changed their faith at least once in their lifetimes. Read the full report here. Most people who change their religion do so before the age of 24. Prayerfully consider the facts of the study and the impact it has on your church and your men's ministry. Think about what you can do to capture the hearts of your men and their sons so our future leaders will lead with a strong foundation in Jesus Christ. |

Dear Pam
The 411 on Men's Ministry
We seem to have fallen in a rut with our men's events.....doing the same things at our event every year. What are some ways that we can MAN UP our annual men's event?
--Bored in Chicago
Dear Bored,
Here are some fun ways to "Man Up" your event:
- Include some "friendly" competition. This can be done individually or in groups. This could be an athletic competition or even a quiz show type thing...anything fun that creates some manly competition!!
- Share testimonies at your event. Prior to the event, ask a few guys that you know have an impactful testimony to share it at different times throughout your event.
- Use film clips!! They don't necessarily have to be relevant, but typically you can find some great ones that fit your theme or discussion. Humorous ones work too!
- Fill a small toolbox with nuts & candy and place it in the center of each table. Then put a piece of colored tape under one chair at each table. At the end of the event, have everyone check their chair and the one with the colored tape takes the toolbox home.
- Create an adventure retreat that includes white water rafting, hunting or snow skiing...anything adventurous that fits your geographic area and men would enjoy.
I sure hope this helps!! I'll be anxious to hear how you MAN UP your event this year! For more ideas like these and free info packet on hosting a successful event, call me at 407-472-2100.

Men's Ministry News
Jogging for Jesus
For some runners, a marathon is a team effort in addiction recovery. Josh Epps didn't enjoy running at first.
He contemplated quitting the Frederick Rescue Mission's running group many times until he realized the impact it had on his recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.
"By being able to run, it's helped me with my anger ... I can think clearly," said Epps, who graduated from the mission's Christian-based recovery program a year ago.

Fiji's "Be a Man" Conference Points Men to Jesus for Solutions to Life's Problems
It has become a nationwide conference that has captured the attention of many and its growing popularity includes the participation of public figures like France-based rugby winger Filimoni Delasau, former national rugby 15s skipper Ro Alifereti Doviverata and Navy Commander, Francis Kean.
The 'Be A Man' conference started two years ago by the New Methodist Christian Fellowship and aims to bring men from all walks of life together to share experiences and faith.
General superintendent of the NCF Atu Vulaono said the two-day conference at the National Gymnasium ended yesterday and more than 2000 men turned out for the annual event.
