 Connecting with the Culture
In a recent Newsweek poll, 76% of Americans say they believe Jesus was the Son of God and 75% believe that Jesus was the Messiah sent to Earth to absolve mankind of its sins. And 78% believe in the resurrection (40 percent believe he physically rose from the dead and 32 percent believe it was a spiritual resurrection).
There are at least two implications of this for our ministry to men: 1) We have a tremendous common ground with people from which to begin a dialogue about the person and work of Jesus Christ; and 2) There is a tremendous disconnect between what many people say they believe and what they actually worship and love.
By word and deed your men’s ministry needs to call men into more than just an intellectual acknowledgement of Jesus Christ. We must help them see that Christ can fill the deepest passions of their hearts.
