Labor Day is just around the corner. Kids return to school, football season begins, and men’s ministries begin kicking off events & small groups. Are you involved in a small group? Are you looking for a men’s group, event, or training that will help you develop a strategy to reach men in your church?

Our newsletter this month provides opportunities to find all of these things. As you’ll see below, we’re looking for groups & Bible studies open to men to post on our website, along with links to ministries that would serve as a useful resource to ours brothers.

There are many training and equipping opportunities coming this fall such as “Essentials of A Sustainable Ministry To Men” from Man in the Mirror, "Meaningful Men’s Ministry” workshops, and “The Six Basics of Being A Great Dad” from Great Dads. Check them out at www.umof.org.

We also would like welcome aboard Chicago Men of Faith. They are the newest network of churches to come aboard with United Men of Faith to partner in reaching men for Christ and giving them resources to grow. Taking Time To Get Focused
As you know, living in sexual purity is one of the hardest things men face in the sensual culture we live in. That’s why we believe weekends like these are important for men. They give them an opportunity to come together, get real about their struggles and find what they are searching for: powerful answers that can only be found in the Word of God.

These weekends are a time for men to address sexual purity head on. They give them an opportunity to get into God’s presence and find His help in the midst of their struggle, no matter how big or small it may be. Often times it is an opportunity for men to get their spiritual compass reset, and has been truly life changing for some.

A group of men from five churches in Northwest Chicago have partnered together to “disciple men’s hearts” according to Ed Rivera, point man for Chicago Men of Faith. UMOF will work in concert with CMOF to build a regional coalition of men’s ministries and train leaders in Chicago to help churches build disciplemaking ministries to men. This is a one day course for men’s ministry teams coming this fall. Faculty from Man in the Mirror’s Leadership Training Center (including United Men of Faith’s own Bob Keiderling) are available to facilitate this interactive event designed for leaders to develop a common vision and formulate a plan to achieve it. United Men of Faith is looking for any men’s groups or Bible Studies in your churches or communities that are open to other men. We will post them on the website to help other men that have no groups in their church, or are relocating and looking for men to connect with. There may be a church in your area that would like to do a group similar to yours.

This information will enable them to contact you for help and give you the opportunity to help other men understand the Gospel and grow in Christ. Do you have a link from your church website to send? Send it and we will include it. If you have access to websites that provide resources to help men grow, please send them.

UMOF will be taking part in a leadership community that will be comprised of leaders from all over the nation. This is valuable information that can be passed on. The National Training Center has changed its name to the Leadership Training Center. Brett Clemmer, vice president of leadership development explains why the word “National” no longer applies: “God has used Man in the Mirror to train men from all over the world. So far, we’ve had leaders from the U.S. and Canada, plus countries in Europe, Africa and Asia. We chose ‘Leadership Training Center’ to more clearly reflect where this effort fits in the Christian men’s movement." Check out the new logo as well!
