But you dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God's love. Jude 1:20-21

Greetings Brothers,

It has been several months since the newsletter was sent out. Please forgive me as many changes have occurred in my life and with the leadership of Men of Faith Network. There will be a change in the director position as Alex Santiago will be taking the position as of January. Alex faithfully served as director of New York Men of Faith for several years until a job change brought him to Central Florida . Alex held the first all Spanish conference for MOFN and has translated some of our material.  I will continue to serve MOFN as an advisor.

As we go forward, we are looking for leaders all over the country interested in helping churches reach and disciple their men. With Alex and I down in Florida , there is a need for some men in the northeast to step up. If you have any questions or interest, you can contact Alex at 917-859-8486 or asantiago1@cfl.rr.com.

Please keep Donna and I in prayer. Our call to Florida has taken an unexpected turn and there are many challenges to work through. I also have some physical issues that are affecting my work that need prayer. Thank you all for love, encouragement and support. You are the best.

Your servant in Christ,
Bob K

A Case Study in Men's Ministry

Men of Valor and Prayer

Jeff Kisiah (Coach "K") is the Associate Pastor and Men's Ministry Coach at Harvest Community Church in Charlotte, N.C. In the November/December edition of The Fourth Seed, Coach K tells us about the men's ministry at Harvest Community Church (HCC).

"HCC was launched in February of 1996 with five "seed" famlies

and a vision "to develop people into followers of Jesus Christ with a passion to worship God well and communicate His love to others." God arranged for me to join this effort in June of 1996. Shortly thereafter, we began to help develop the men of Harvest into fully-devoted followers of Christ.

"During Man in the Mirror's NationalLeadership Summit in August of 2005, God prompted a whole new paradigm for the ministry. HCC launched a small group following their annual Men's Fall Summit. Amazingly we saw 40% of the men participate!"

We asked him what encouragement he had to give men's ministry leaders. "It is very rewarding to observe God at work in

men's lives at HCC."

The Importance of Christian Books for Men

What can you tell me about how Christian books for men are purchased and read?

First, a background: A lot of people think that Christian men don't read. I think what people might mean is that, "Men don't go to Christian bookstores to buy books." In
any event, sales of Christian books for men are a fraction of sales for women's books. This is a genuine problem because no movement can flourish without strong literature.

Excerpt from The Fourth Seed

What Is Fellowship?

Some men balk at the term "fellowship." It may not seem like a masculine need, so let's look at some synonyms--friendship, partnership, gathering, camaraderie, building, brotherhood, hanging out, and getting together. Suddenly it doesn't sound so bad.

The need for relationship is deeply rooted in all of us. God made Eve to be a helper and companion to Adam because it wasn't good for man to be alone. And for those of us who are married, our closest earthly relationship should be with our wives. But our need for relationships extends beyond marriage.

The bottom line is, God did not intend for any man to fight life's challenges by himself. We need one another because He created us to need one another.

Scripture builds on this theme when it compares the church to a human body. 1 Corinthians 12:12 says, "The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body." We are one body with many different parts, and we need one another to function effectively.
