Some 62% of adults say sharing household chores is very important to marital success. In the public's ranking of keys to a successful marriage, "sharing household chores" still trails far behind the perennial leader -- "faithfulness" --which is rated as very important by 93% of survey respondents. The Bigger Breakfast Churches across the UK are taking part in The Bigger Breakfast, an attempt to break the world's record for the most men eating breakfast at the same time. Fact sheets on sensitive men's issues such as prostrate cancer and pornography will be distributed. "We're delighted at how churches are responding to The Bigger Breakfast," says Phil Creighton, BMM vice president. "We want the day to kick start ministry to men across the UK, and these will be terrific resources for churches. Read the full article here. Men Must Reach Beyond Local Church Chapters NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS)--With its goal to "help men know Jesus Christ," the Commission on United Methodist Men must reach out beyond its chartered local church chapters to connect with a wider range of men, say its leaders. One method to accomplish this is through certification to be a men's specialist by the United Methodist Board of Higher Education and Ministry.
Dr. Patrick Morley will be speaking at The Gathering for Men in 2009.

Run and Pray You will see them early on Saturdays at Kellyville Ridge jogging, stretching and chatting. Not only are Darren Pettit and the group of men getting fit, they are fitting time for their faith into their weekends. The group meets at 6:45 AM and prays for 15 minutes before embarking on a 45-minute exercise routine of hill runs, push-ups, sit-ups and sprints. The Rouse Hill and Stanhope Gardens Anglican Church men's ministry member said the idea for the group came from discussions about how to reach men in the community. ''Men don't tend to share their problems and discuss things by sitting down and having coffee, they like to be working or doing things. This allows us to relate to each other and open up about the struggles in our lives while training,'' Mr. Pettit said. Read the full story here.
Southern Baptists Help in Gustav Relief David E. The Knights of the Columbus sponsor conference on Abortion's Effect on Men "As an organization of lay men that has a strong history and commitment to life, we think it is very important to highlight the issues faced by those fathers whose children are aborted," said Supreme Knight Carl Anderson. "There are three victims of every abortion, the child and both of his or her parents, and it is our hope that this conference will be the beginning of a ministry within the Church to these fathers, who grieve the death of their unborn child in isolation and silence."

Dear Pam
Puzzled Plans
We are in the process of putting together our 2009 calendar of events for our men's ministry and are planning to host another one of your Man in the Mirror seminars. How do we know which seminar to select? Should they be done in a particular order? --Excited about the Next Step
Dear Excited,
That is a great question and I'm happy to help you get started with your 2009 planning. Thanks for allowing Man in the Mirror to meet your men's ministry needs.
I'd like to direct you to an informative video on our website that will answer your question very clearly. Please click where it says "Which event is right for your church?" This video walks you through the Wide-Deep Continuum, which will help you to determine where men are on their spiritual journey, and then target the activities and opportunities you offer to men based on where they are spiritually.
Didn't that simplify your decision? Please call me at (800) 929-2536, ext. 110 so I can reserve your date, get your seminar posted on our website and ship you some marketing materials to get started promoting.
Serving you to disciple men,
Pam |
