Man in the Mirror Field Network Update
Man in the Mirror's Annual Summit in January will be host to the field associate pilot debrief. Men who graciously accepted the responsibility of testing No Man Left Behind conferences, Seminars and Reaching Every Man training will convene for a debrief on this exercise so that we can all learn what modifications should be made as we deploy this initiative further in 2009. A workshop or panel discussion will be part of the Summits' agenda for all interested parties to hear first hand from these men - what worked, what didn't work and what did God do with their respective efforts?
2009 Field Initiative Work is already underway to recruit more men across this nation to become field associates for Seminars and No Man Left Behind conferences and field trainers for Reaching Every Man events. Interested in learning more about this for you or your ministry? Email allenio@maninthemirror.org for more information and be sure to make plans to join us for in-depth discussions at our Annual Summit here in Orlando, FL. |

A Real Christmas Gift The December 23 Devotional from Equipping the Man in the Mirror
You're blessed when you get your inside world-your mind and heart-put right. Then you can see God in the outside world. Matt. 5:8, The Message
The human heart houses many deep problems. Often, theses are even more keenly felt at Christmastime. All people are looking for a cause, they're looking for love, and they're looking for an explanation of the pain they experience.
It seems that people can set aside many of their frustrations throughout the year. But at the holiday season we all want to feel fulfilled, to know we have a purpose, that we love and are loved, and that the difficulties in life make our faith stronger. We all watch the feel-good stories of the holidays like, "It's a Wonderful Life." Man of George Bailey's struggles in the movie are the same as many men in your life. Maybe you know someone who is going through a difficult time-a divorce, job loss, death of a loved one, or some other matter of the heart. The reason Jesus came was to love that person in need. What better gift at Christmas than the love of God? MIMBS7.
Is there someone in your life who needs to know the love of Christ? During this Christmas season, how can you show them more of God's love?

Ministry Spotlight
Fishers of Men Medical Ministries
FOMMM is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization and was started after much prayer and prompting of the Holy Spirit after Andy and Victoria Schmelzer's second trip to Ghana. Victoria has been involved in medical missions since 1984 and Andy was overwhelmed as a teen when he first read the command to take the gospel to all creation.
Andy and Victoria are led to take the gospel to Asia. Since the fall of Communist Russia, the opportunities in Mongolia are amazing. There will be the building up of Mongolians and Chinese to be a witnesses of the gospel of Jesus Christ. These people will be instrumental in taking the gospel to the Islamic countries. We also will look to evangelize the Carribean. Right now we have a place in Trinidad and Tobago to minister evangelically and medically. Visit their website here.

Man Code Keyword: Man Code
"But with Christ, we have access in a one-to-one relationship, for, as in the Old Testament, it was more one of worship and awe, a vertical relationship. The New Testament, on the other hand, we look across at a Jesus who looks familiar, horizontal. The combination is what makes the Cross." --Bono |
Dear Pam
The 411 on Successful Men's Events
Dear Pam,
We are having a father/son paintball outing and really want to make this an outreach event. What is the best way to promote our event outside the walls of our church? --Trapped in VA
Dear Trapped,
Here are some quick ideas:
1. Challenge your men to invite friends and neighbors. Who should they ask? How about their son's friends from school or a sports team?
2. Ask your pastor to send a personal note to area pastors and encourage them to join the event.
3. Get your youth group to put up flyers (with permission) at their schools.
And ALWAYS present an opportunity for all who attend to be a part of a follow up program. For a paintball event, I might recommend giving every man a Wild At Heart book (available in boxes of 48) and extending an invitation to participate in a 6-week discussion group. Capture that momentum!! Let me know how it goes!!
Serving Together, Pam
Over the last 10 years, Pam Adkins has helped
churches conduct over 1,000 events for men. We think this makes her the single
most experienced men's event specialist in the world! Pam uses questions she has
been asked to write this column. All identifying information has been changed to
protect the clueless. To use a men's event to get your men into long-term
