Sam Hayes from First United Methodist Church in Cary, NC shares with us about attending the Dads That Make a Difference seminar:

“Thanks to my dad, I have the opportunity to take my kids to church, go to their ballgames, and spend time with them that my dad didn't get the chance too! [My dad] was a Dad That Made a Difference. That is why I hope every man who is a father, grandfather, or a man who hopes to be a father one day will attend this event and be another dad who makes a difference.”

Not to get all touchy-feely, but according to Dan Goleman, Yes! Goleman, the author of Social Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence, writes that scientists have found “mirror neurons” in the brain that actually pick up on the emotions of others. Studies have shown that when a person in a group -- like a small group, for instance -- is intentionally upbeat (or negative), the mood of the entire group can be affected. “We just completed our 3rd annual ‘Kick-Off Classic,’ involving a large percentage of the Men of Harvest. This Labor Day Weekend event provided a tremendous start to our new ‘season’ of ministry, creating valuable connection points that will carry over into our four men’s small groups for this year.”

M.V.P. (Men of Valor & Prayer) gatherings are being held at various times, utilizing the Unleashing Your Heart Study Guide that Man in the Mirror and Promise Keepers created. Guys are being provided multiple opportunities (Mon PM/Wed PM/Thurs PM/Sat AM) to attend.
