2005
Man in the Mirror
LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

Man in the Mirror held its first
Leadership Summit
in Orlando on August 18-20, 2005
.

OVERVIEW

Man in the Mirror will spend $20 million by the end of the decade to further the men's discipleship movement in the U.S. We want today's thought and action leaders to help us make sure we are spending it to develop the tools, technologies, and organizational structures that will have the highest and longest term impact for the Kingdom.

This meeting will be a "think tank" made up of leaders who share our vision for reaching and discipling men. This is an invitation-only gathering of leaders who have staked out a "territory" where they want to reach men with the Gospel and disciple them to grow in Christ.  Whether your vision is for your church, city, state, region, church, or denomination, we want you to help us. Together we all share the overall mission of engaging every man in America with a credible offer of the gospel and resources to grow.

Possible outcomes from this Leadership Summit include:

  • The formation of a National Leadership Team who will advise Man in the Mirror and partner with us to advance the men's discipleship movement in America 's churches.
  • Specific recommendations would be made to develop an online Leadership Community that will connect leaders across the nation and around the globe who are passionate about discipling men.
  • We would like to see several topics of importance to the movement more fully explored, resulting in several "white papers" being written by members of the National Leadership Team, and move towards their publication.
  • Proposals for further training and ministry structures that would support the cause of discipling men in America - The Leadership Community.

We have invited leaders already warm to Man in the Mirror methods and models. We want to zero in on Man in the Mirror's mission, strategy, and role in to the larger men's discipleship movement. We are not seeking whole new models or approaches that would break the momentum/deconstruct the work we've already done.

At the end of this weekend, we will all have a better idea of what a Men's Ministry Leadership Community looks like-thanks to you - and how you can use it to leverage your ministry to men.
