One Page Executive Summary
Every day at Man in the Mirror
we are personally engaged with men who are in a battle for their souls. They lost, if they
ever found, their souls by exchanging the truth of God for a lie. The
lie comes in many forms but at its core is unbelief that says, "Jesus
Christ alone is not enough to make you happy. You need something else."
Man in the Mirror wants to partner with you in
The Battle For Men's Souls, a campaign to engage every man in America
with a credible offer of Christ and the resources to grow. Someone has
said, "I would rather fail in a cause that will ultimately succeed
than succeed in a cause that will ultimately fail." The Battle for
Men's Souls is just such a cause. We want to team with you in this battle.
The Need
A woman came to work with us
after college. She wanted to work in a ministry to men. Why? She said,
"When I was nine my mother and father separated. Over the next several
years I saw my father a few times. Then, when I was thirteen, they divorced.
After that I never saw my father again."
We are in a life and death
battle for the souls of men….
- There are 113,000,000 men
in America 18 years of age and older.
- Evangelism: Regrettably,
69 million men make no profession of Christ.
- Discipleship:
Amazingly, 107 million men are not involved in any kind of discipleship.
Only 6 million men are involved in discipleship-only 1 out of every
18 men. Can you imagine having a baseball game where only 1 player on either team knows how to play the game?
Is it any wonder why America
is mired in the moral decay of divorce, adultery, pornography, abortion,
and a hundred other major problems?
Hugh O. Maclellan, one of
America's leading Christian philanthropists said recently, "The greatest
need we have in America is to reach our men."
Our Goal
Our mission statement:
Serving church leaders in the battle for men's souls. We believe there is at least one leader in each of America's 350,000
churches who is serious about the cause of reaching men. Our goal
is to serve the needs of 100,000 church leaders
who are serious about fighting the battle for men's souls. We believe
this can reach 10,000,000 new men. With proper funding we have
the organizational capacity to reach these goals. We presently have some
level of relationship with about 30,000 church leaders.
As Bill Bright often said, "It all comes down to leadership." That's why Man in the Mirror is totally focusing its efforts on training, encouraging and resourcing leaders, like you, to reach and disciple men.
In the remainder of this course, you will get an overview of a strategy we have seen successfully implemented in hundred of churches across the country and even around the world. However, it is just an overview.
