| just got off the phone with a pastor God is using in a wonderful way to disciple men. Something he said struck me when I asked him, “How do you measure your results and effectiveness?” His answer went something like this: “I don’t have a clue. A few years ago I felt like I had to produce big numbers to be called ‘effective.’ But if God called me to disciple men, and he did, then effectiveness for me is being personally involved with men. That’s how I would measure success. Am I producing a viable model of true discipleship with a few men? If I am, then that can be reproduced.” The question is not, “How many men have you discipled?” The question is, “Are you faithfully doing what God has called you to do?” |
